Besakih Temple is the largest Hindu temple in Bali. It offers a stunning view from the top of the temple area where you can see a vast natural panorama stretching all the way to the ocean, which is why this temple attracts many tourists from all over the world. Besakih Temple is located in the Besakih village, in the Rendang sub-district of Karangasem regency, on the eastern part of the island. It sits on the southwestern slope of Mount Agung, the tallest mountain in Bali. This is because Mount Agung is considered the holiest and highest mountain on the island. Bali’s “mother temple,” Besakih Temple, is over 900 meters up the slopes of Gunung Agung. It has been seen as a sacred place since prehistoric times in Bali. The first recorded mention of its existence comes from an inscription dating back to 1007 A.D. Since the Gelgel dynasty in the fifteenth century, it has been viewed as a central, holy temple for the entire island. All the allegiances of the Balinese people converge at Besakih. Each regency has its own temple within the overall compound, as do the different caste groups. There are a total of 18 separate sanctuaries. The three main temples are: Pura Penataran Agung, dedicated to Sang Hyang Widi Wasa; Pura Kiduling Kreteg, dedicated to Brahma; and Pura Batu Madeg, dedicated to Wisnu. For the Balinese, a visit to the temple sanctuaries at Besakih is a special pilgrimage. Each temple has its own odalan, or anniversary celebration, and on the full moon of the Balinese month “Kedasa,” the entire compound of Besakih celebrates the visit of the gods, with a huge crowd of visiting pilgrims
Tirta Gangga is located in Ababi Village, Abang District, Karangasem Regency, in east Bali. From Kuta, it takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes by car to get there. There are three main attractions in Tirta Gangga Karangasem park: the gardens, water pools, and statues. The park is set in the middle of rice fields, and the water comes from the Rejasa spring. This park still belongs to the Karangasem kingdom. Tirtagangga water park is open from 08:00 to 17:00. On average, tourists spend about an hour enjoying their time at Tirtagangga water park. Most of the tourist activities here involve taking photos and feeding the fish. One popular photo spot is a stone platform that looks like it's floating on the water's surface.
Lempuyang Temple, or Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang, is a Balinese Hindu temple located on the slopes of Mount Lempuyang in Karangasem, Bali. Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang is part of a complex of temples surrounding Mount Lempuyang, which is one of the most esteemed temples in Bali. The temples of Mount Lempuyang are represented by the highest temple at the peak, Pura Lempuyang Luhur; it’s one of the Sad Kahyangan Jagad, meaning the “six sanctuaries of the world,” the six holiest places of worship on the island.
